- A normal Urea's rate of disappearance or melting after coming in contact with moisture is high. Few parts evaporated in the atmosphere and large parts got infiltrated into the soil after spreading, hence, time left for plant consumption is less consequently growth not much increases as expected, so additional fertilizer required and cost of production increased. But, in case of Neem coated Urea the rate of melting decreased and plant's consumption time increased consequently the demand of Fertilizers have decreased and productivity and production both increased while the cost of Fertilizers have decreased owing to its decreased loss in atmosphere and deep soil.
- water purification: in a research conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU) has found that both Neem and teak are extracted many harmful or toxic substances from water. Which is also eco-friendly and inexpensive and work on adsorption technique and became very effective in preventing water-borne diseases. For this purpose, two types of absorbent was prepared from the ashes of Teak wood sawdust and Neem stalk. Wood powder of teak is mixed with sodium thiosulphate ,which is an intoxic reagent used for medicinal purposes, and heated in an atmosphere of nitrogen to make activated charcoal. And, it is capable to extract harmful gases, ions, sulphur, selenium from water. While, in other hand, Neem ash is able to treat the polluted water contaminated with copper, nickel, and zinc. As Ganga water is contained with nickel, zinc, copper in effective treatment plants (ETPs) this method can be applied effectively at lower investment.
- Biofuel: Neem seeds are ussually considered useless material but, now its importance has increased due to is use in production of biodiesel that decreases the cost of traditional fuels by blending with diesel.
- Biopesticides: Most farmer are using mixed solutions of Neem in water to protect crops from insect attack and kill them by sprinkling over it as botanical pesticide which is environment friendly in nature and non hazardous to humans and doesn't affect food chain.
