  Topic               Health diseases  Prelims   It is a disease that affects brain and throughout brain develops black spots in brain, that leads to shrinkage of mind.  Left ( healthy brain); right (Alzheimer brain) with large black gaps where brain has shrunk  In Alzheimer's disease ,tau and another protein called Amyloid- beta built-up into tangle and plaques- known together as aggregates- that causes brain cells to die and lead to brain shrinkage.  Aggregates form in one region then spread throughout the brain, much like how cancer spread.  Alzheimer progression was mainly caused by cluster spreading between different brain regions in a chain reaction.  Tau is one of the two key protein that implicated in the condition.  Impacts   Alzheimer in turn results in memory loss, personality changes and inability to carryout daily functions.
