 National logistic excellence award 

Government of India announced awards in to two categories related to supply Chain on 19 July 2021 that are : 

  • The first group includes service providers/ logistics infrastructure 
  • The second group includes user industries 
Aim 
  • To turn the spotlight on logistics service providers who have attained operational excellence, adopted digitization and technology, improved customer services pursued sustainable practices among other achievements. 
  • For user industries,  the award will showcase efforts towards supply chain transformation,  suppliers ecosystem development,  skill development,  automation and other similar endeavors. 
  • To to loud the extraordinary measures such as last Mile delivery e startups effective transportation of oxygen and development of cold storage facilities.
Benefits: The award will highlight best practices including consolidation, process standardisation, technological Upgradation,  digital transformation and sustainable practices.

  • While the Indian logistics sector  has been growing at a CAGR of 10.5% reaching approximately US$ 215 billion in value in 2020.
  • Comprehensive logistic costs amount to almost 14% of India's GDP.

This practice was largely followed by the higher classes of the society.  It was William bentinck who made it a crime against humanity in 1829 and strongly supported by  Rajaram Mohan Ray.
