Astro-visit through telescope

What is Astro-village?

A village which is being use to see the sky, stars, planets and others in nights through telescope is known as Astro-village. 

Takula Astro village in kumaon region of Uttarakhand state being developed as a tourist place for night visit of celestial bodies as astrological point of view to attract tourist to see stars, planets, night sky with the help of telescope.
  • This  Takula village is located at an elevation of 1, 958  meters above mean sea level at Bhimtal block in Nainital district.  
  • The village will provide a clear and mesmerizing view of the night sky for the visitors for whom glass house and Cafe also being developed. 
  • The telescope to be installed by the district department with the help of Nainital based Aryabhatt Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIOS).

Takula village is favorable place for astro tourism. It is similar to Scandinavian countries that attracts tourists for northern lights


Benital astro village is located at an altitude of 2,600 meters in the Chamoli district. Benital is being promoted as an Astro-village for stargazing, constellation hunting, sky observation, identifying planets and leaning astrophotography, astro party.  Astro party is an event where people can have a multitude of astronomical experience ranging from identifying planets, constellation, stars, cosmic phenomenon,to make sun dials and so on with the help of telescopes.

Topic  :          constitution of India   Part 1V of constitution of India mandates to central government under "Directive Principles of State policy "  Article 44  Mandates that " State shall endeavour to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India "  Issues  Interfaith marriage : Allahabad High Court directed the marriage registrar/ officer to register the marriage without awaiting/ insisting approval of district authority. And also directed the central government to consider the constitution of a committee/ commission for implementing mandates of Article 44.
