Topic. Constitution of India History of India Prelims
- The constitution assembly was setup in 1994 for drafting the constitution of India.
- The drafted constitution was adopted on 26th November 1949 by the constituent assembly.
- In 2015, on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar, chairman of the drafting committee of constitution, the union government declared November 26th as Samvidhan Diwas or constitution day.
- Constitution of India is a sacred document and everyone should be fully committed to its ideals
- It imposes sacred duty upon all the organs of the state to be sensitive to the hopes and aspirations of the citizens.
- India is a federal democracy. It has 3 organs- the judiciary, legislature and executive.
- It establish social, economic democracy and political democracy.
- India is a parliamentary democracy where elected representative of people representing into the house of parliament.

- Right to hold office of State
- Constitutional Government
- A responsible government which is representative.
- The government is an institution of social reform- to amend the social and economic code of life which dictates the justice.
- The principle of liberty equality and fraternity formed the core of Ambedkar constitution.
- Ambedkar was a firm believer in the protection of minority rights.
