Question hours
It is question hours about one and half hour period during which member of house asks questions pertaining to administration and government activities and concern minister answer those questions.
Answer can be given in two ways that are oral answer and written answer.
There is four types of question
- Starred question ( green colour)
- Unstarred question ( white colour)
- Short notice question ( light pink)
- Question addressed to private members ( yellow)
Starred question
It is one to which a member desires an oral answer in the house and which distinguished by an asterisk mark. When a question is answered orally, supplementary question can be asked thereon. Only 20 question can be listed for oral answer on a day.
Unstarred question
It is that which is not called for an oral answer in house and on which no supplementary question can consequently be asked. Only 230 question can be listed for written answer on a day.
Short notice question
It is one which relates to a matter of urgent public importance and can be asked with a shorter notice than the period for an ordinary question like a Starred question. It is answered orally followed by supplementary question.
