WHAT IS NATIONAL DIGITAL HEALTH MISSION (NDHM)?

 National Digital Health Mission (NDHM)

NDHM was announced by the Indian prime minister on the eve of independence day on 15th August 2020 from the red fort to create a digital infrastructure for health care services delivery to the people of India across.
This is a digital health tech revolution in India

It is based on greater inclusivity, efficiency and transparency in health care sector.

BASIC FEATURES: 
  • It is a digital platform and future app based service delivery system
  • It is created a electronic health ID of individual patient.
  • It have registered service provider such as doctors, hospitals,  diagnostic laboratories, and pharmacies, etc
  • It provides telimedicine services to patients in which they can communicate with various doctors by online mode without going there. 
  • It records individual heath data and stored are  shared by individual's consent to others and can be denied to share data any time as individual think fit. 
  • It transfered the test reports to doctors digitally.
  • Online payments to service providers at one click.
  • Data are encrypted and no one can  download stored and change without prior approval of individual.
  • It ensures accountability and transparency of services and service providers.
  • It is safe and secure patients friendly service delivery eosystem.
  • Ensures access to quality health care services delivery at one click remotely. 
  • Unified Health interface (UHI): It will be developed and will allow users to search, book, available health care services such as telecommunications or laboratory tests etc. This interface invited to the public and private solutions to involve in scheme by providing apps services for interoperability.
  • It helps Data analysis, Future forecast
  • Participation is free of cost and not mandated AADHAR for health ID.  
  • Doorstep delivery of medicines at affordable prices. 

Currently NDHM  is currently running in six Union territories of India - 

  1. Chandigarh 
  2. Pondicherry 
  3. Dadra and Nagar haveli and Daman and Diu
  4. Ladakh
  5. Andaman and Nicobar
