BLUE FLAG BEACH

It is a certification accorded (given status/recognition) by the Denmark based jury consists of member of UNEP, UNWTO, IUCN, UNESCO, etc.
This jury gives a blue flag certification to beach based on 33 parameters compliances. Blue flag is an indication of 100% compliance to these 33 stringent criteria and sound health of the beach. This year(2021) government of India got two new blue flag certification for Kovalan in Tamil Nadu and Eden Puducherry beach.
Now India has 10 blue flag certified beaches they are:
- Shirajpur beach ( Gujarat)
- Ghoghla beach ( Diu)
- Kasarkod beach ( Karnataka)
- Padubidri beach (Karnataka)
- Kappada beach (Kerala)
- Rushikonda beach (Andhra Pradesh)
- Golden beach (Odisha)
- Radhanagar beach ( Andaman and Nicobar)
- Kovalan beach (TamilNadu)
- Eden beach (Puducherry)
