Ownership scheme
SVAMITVA (survey of village and mapping with improvised technology in village areas) scheme was launched by the Indian prime minister Sri Narendra Modi on national Panchayati raj day 24 April 2020 with a resolve to enable economic progress of rural India by providing "record of rights" to every households owner.
Ownership scheme is collaborative efforts of ministry of Panchayati raj, state revenue department, state Panchayati raj department, survey of India.
Aim of the scheme :
- to demarcate the inhabited lands in rural areas through the latest surveying drone technology.
- to facilitate monetization of property.
- enabling bank loans and other financial benefits on this record.
- reducing property related disputes.
- comprehensive village level planning.
- to provide record rights to village households owners.
- to make rural India Gram Swaraj.
- revenue collections.
Benefits:
- the scheme is providing property card both by physical distribution or downloaded by SMS link send on beneficiaries mobile number, householders can download their property card from that link.
- this property cards act as assets to obtain loans from financial institution.
- it is reducing disputes related to the property ownership.
- makes clarity over property.
Phase first : the pilot scheme (April 2020 to March 2021) was launched in states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and establishment of continuous operating reference systems(CORS) in states of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan.
Phase Second : ( from April 2021 to March 2025) complete survey of remaining villages and CORS networks coverage across the country by 2025.
