Earthshot Prize 

 It is an environmental prize given by the London based Queen Elizabeth 2nd grandson prince William.

This new annual awards  were created by the prince William "to reward efforts to save the planet in face of climate change and global warming."

  • "William hopes it will help propel the fight against climate change."
  • "A decade does not seem long but humankind has an outstanding record of being able to solve the unsolvable".
  • "The actions we choose or choose not to take in the next 10 years will determine the fate of the planet for the next thousand."
  • "The future is ours to determine. And if we set our minds to it, nothing is impossible".


Five international winners received £1 million pounds ( $1.4 million).

The fight against the climate change will lead to Cop26 summit in Scotland 

Winners 

  1. Clean Our Air Prize : Indian company Takachar won the Clean Our Air Prize for the creation of a portable machine which turns agricultural wastes into fertilizers so that farmers do not burn the waste and cause air pollution. 
  2. Protect and Restore Nature award: the Republic of Costa Rica won this prize for its efforts to protect forests, plants trees and restore ecosystems 
  3. Food waste Hub Award: the Northern Italian city of Milan won this for collecting unused food and giving it to people who Need it most. 
  4. Coral vita : Bahamas won this prize for a project to grow Coral in tanks, 50 times quick than Coral normally grows 
  5. The fix our climate laureate: went to a joint Thailand-Germany-Italian team for the AEM Electrolyzer, which uses renewable energy to make clean hydrogen by splitting water into its constituent elements.

This practice was largely followed by the higher classes of the society.  It was William bentinck who made it a crime against humanity in 1829 and strongly supported by  Rajaram Mohan Ray. It was the main achievement of British government in India to to modernise the societies of India  Government of India passed an act in 1856 to enable widow remarriage  and  Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidya Sagar had requested for making law regarding widow remarriage.  Government of India tried to practice of killing women infanticide and dowry system.

Article 44 (Uniform Civil Code)

Topic  :          constitution of India   Part 1V of constitution of India mandates to central government under "Directive Principles of State policy "  Article 44  Mandates that " State shall endeavour to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India "  Issues  Interfaith marriage : Allahabad High Court directed the marriage registrar/ officer to register the marriage without awaiting/ insisting approval of district authority. And also directed the central government to consider the constitution of a committee/ commission for implementing mandates of Article 44.
